To be, or not to be?

Almost everyone knows this catchphrase.

But only those who have read the play of the same name by the world-famous William Shakespeare know how the continuation of Hamlet's famous monologue sounds in English. It's no secret that even our students who study core subjects in English very rarely refer to works of fiction in this language. And in vain. Because reading authors' works in English:

  • speeds up its learning
  • expands vocabulary
  • helps to learn spelling and syntax
  • improves translation skills

And most importantly, you can fully experience the emotionality and perception of the events of the work by the author, not the translator, who still makes certain adjustments to the work. Add the development and maintenance of brain, thinking, and memory.

It's all about the good stuff!

The Sumy State University Library offers an excellent selection of fiction in English. Visit us and everyone will find a book to their liking: a drama, a romance novel, a detective story.

For lovers of the classics, we offer The Millennium Library, a book series published by Everyman's Library in 1998-2006. It is the only major project of the millennium in the UK dedicated to the English language and world literature.
