This year, we have updated our digital hub by creating a comfortable and modern space for learning and improving digital skills. We do not stop there, and continue to study to provide you with qualified help and consultations on digital literacy.

Svitlana Holyshevska, Library SumDU Coordinator, has participated in five-day online training for regional training centres, "Development of the ability of libraries of digital education". The purpose of the training is to expand the digital skills of coaches and the coordinators of the hubs of digital education.

The training was held in the framework of the project of the Ukrainian Library Association, which is implemented with grant support from the UN Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine and the Sweden Government.

Speakers presented information about the project, the importance of digital skills in the life of a modern person, digital literacy as part of information literacy, strategic goals, and research by the Ministry of digital about digital literacy and education. The interaction between the Ukrainian Library Association and the Ministry of Library was also covered. They considered the capabilities of the portal "Diia. Digital education" and the functions of digital education hubs.

The training participants studied:

  • the needs of users of digital education;
  • the regulatory framework governing the work of the hub;
  • arrangement and technical equipment;
  • provision of educational, information, advisory and reference services;
  • basic access services policy;
  • the profile of competencies of the coordinator;
  • building an individual training plan;
  • resources to increase the level of professional competencies;
  • tools for creating digital content;
  • effective communication in cooperation with the media.

The result of this online training in 2023 will be training measures for coordinators of libraries of digital education in 12 regions of Ukraine, which will help to provide qualified assistance to users.

SumDU library is grateful to the organizers of the Ukrainian Library Association's training and coaches for the possibility of advanced training on the training and service of digital literacy users, providing them with qualified consulting assistance.


UNDP Project "Digital, Inclusive, Available: Supporting Public Services in Ukraine" (Support Project), which was given grant support, started working in 2021 and aimed at overcoming digital gap between generations and different social groups. Its main goal is to increase the availability of new digital decisions so that every man and woman in Ukraine can use electronic services and no one is left.
