On November 9, there was an online meeting between Sumy State University Library staff and colleagues from the University of Liverpool Library within the framework of the "Unity Initiative" project. The meeting was mostly devoted to the issue of open science - the priority direction of the library's work within the framework of the approved development strategy for 2023-2027.
The following issues were discussed at the meeting:
- Open science policy of the University of Liverpool. The role of the library in this process.
- The FAIR Guiding Principles for scientific data management (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reusability).
- University-wide content licensing policy. Responsibilities of the Licensing Manager at the University of Liverpool Library.
- Support of the initiative regarding open educational resources by the academic community of the university.
- The experience of the University of Liverpool Library in creating a virtual tour of museums and galleries.
- Cooperation of both libraries in the context of Eurovision 2023.
- Grant activity of the University of Liverpool Library.
We have agreed on:
- conducting a cycle of classes at the beginning of next year on issues of open science for librarians and the university community;
- organizing a meeting-training in December this year, dedicated to social networks and improving the quality of library content in the social space;
- conducting Know-How seminars for the academic community of SumDU.
We also understood that our libraries follow a similar policy regarding the use of Creative Commons licenses in the context of copyright.
!!! A great offer from colleagues of the University of Liverpool Library. All interested members of the SumDU academic community are invited to visit the University of Liverpool during Eurovision 2023. Library staff proposes us to visit the museums and galleries of the University of Liverpool Library and promises to create an incredible atmosphere of communication and comfort.
Our meeting took place in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and respect. We are grateful to our colleagues for their constant support and sincere empathy about the state of our city community and the country as a whole.
