Vasyl Stus (1938-1985) was unable to attend the presentation of any of his books. Because in Ukraine it was not published - collections of poems went in the hands of self-published form, and they were published only abroad. Participation in the movement of those who disagree with Russification and anti-Ukrainian politics, an active human rights position twice led Stus to the dock for "anti-Soviet agitation and propaganda."
"The Case of Vasyl Stus" book collects documents from a six-volume criminal case stored on the shelves of the former KGB archive of the USSR in Kyiv (now the SSU State Archive).
How and for what was the poet arrested? Who tried to save Vasyl Stus during the process, and who did everything to make him disappear forever behind the bars of the political zone in the Urals?
Renowned journalist and historian Vakhtang Kipiani will tell about the little-known facts of life, imprisonment and death of one of the most notable Ukrainian and European poets of the twentieth century.
