Promotion of Eco-friendly Lifestyle & Academic Culture

We developed and shared open educational resources, e.g.:

• 13 informational booklets and bookmarks in Ukrainian
• 2 brochures on environmental education in Ukrainian
• 2 brochures on Academic Integrity: "Academic Integrity Guide"and in Ukrainian
• 3 stands: "Green University. Green Library", "Let’s save Earth. Sort waste" and in Ukrainian

To promote the green "Life in the style of ECO", librarians conduct interactive events, exhibitions, playing online game Garbage Hero. The main events of were:

• exhibition-competition "Life in the Eco style with SumDU Library"
• exhibition "Living Planet" for World Earth Day
• photo exhibition "Save our native landscapes"
• eco quest "Life without Trash"
• training seminars with schoolchildren and students
• meetings with eco-activists and scientists
• trainings "Daily steps for the better. What will the world look like in 2030?"
• quizzes in social networks "Going Zero Waste" for the World Recycling Day
• Swap party "We will save you from junk"
• quarantine in the style of "Eco Hand made". Let's decorate the house for Easter
• charity flash mob in the shelter of the Sumy Society for the Protection of Animals
• a series of handmade lessons for the New Year holidays "Warmth of Our Hands". Create unique crafts with your own hands – give old things a second life!

Thanks to support of partners Goethe Institute and Hit FM Radio, interactive events are conducted using state-of-the-art multimedia and audio equipment. Librarians are actively using innovative learning technologies, including Kahoot, Mentimeter, Prezi, Canva, Crello.

The eco-events were attended by more than 2,500 people, including pupils, teachers, students and teachers of colleges and universities in the city.

As part of the project, the library launched a column "Alphabet of Eco-Activist", which will help everyone to adjust their lives to the "green light" and be environmentally conscious. The materials of the rubric promote the principles of green office, lifestyle "Zero waste", "green" cars and technologies, eco-conscious nutrition.
